The New Zealand Spinal Cord Injury Registry (NZSCIR) collects data on individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI) to enhance understanding and improve support, prevention, and management of SCI in New Zealand. It includes both traumatic and non-traumatic SCI cases from Auckland and Christchurch.
The registry gathers information such as age, gender, ethnicity, basic SCI data, and treatment locations. With consent, it also includes details on treatment, complications, rehabilitation, and medical conditions. By following consenting participants, the registry aims to understand the long-term impact of SCI and identify necessary services for community participation.
