Immunisation saves lives. As well as protecting yourself from dangerous diseases, getting your tamariki immunised is one of the best ways to set them up for a healthy future. Lots of vaccines in Aotearoa are free.

Vaccines are recommended for pēpi, tamariki, teenagers and adults at certain times in their life. Vaccines listed on the National Immunisation Schedule are free. Some vaccines, like flu, might need to be paid for.

When to immunise

Immunisations start when babies are 6 weeks old and continue into adulthood. Immunising at the recommended times gives the best protection.
