New Zealand Health Survey

The New Zealand Health Survey (NZHS) provides information about the health and wellbeing of adults and tamariki in Aotearoa New Zealand.

About the NZHS

The NZHS became a continuous survey in 2011. This enabled the publication of annual updates on the health of people in New Zealand.

Information collected through the NZHS supports the development of health:

  • services
  • policy
  • strategy.

The results provide data for people selected for the survey period from July to June each year.

The Ministry of Health publishes the NZHS.
