Services we provide

Young children

The LinKIDS team coordinate the following services:

  • newborn enrolment process
  • patient transfer in and out of Canterbury
  • contacting families whose children have missed core health events such as immunisation, B4 school checks, regular rheumatic fever treatment and oral health services
  • referrals to the Young Parents Support Service.

Families new to Canterbury

If you are new to Canterbury or moving to another region in Aotearoa New Zealand, fill out our form. We will use your details to link you up with the right services.

Young parents support

The young parents support service is available free to all pregnant women and parents (including fathers and fathers-to-be) where at least one parent is 19 years or younger. Providers offer individual or group supports including:

  • short‑term navigational supports like housing access, benefit entitlements and preparing for baby
  • parenting education
  • confidential crisis support
  • mental health and addiction support
  • relationship and communication skills
  • home skills.
