The urology service focuses on surgery of the urinary tract system. We also treat some aspects of the male reproductive organs, but do not usually perform vasectomy. We see patients from adults to infants, male and female.
You may be referred to a specialist in urology at the hospital if you have a problem with your:
- kidneys
- adrenal glands
- ureters
- bladder
- urethra
- male reproductive organs including the prostate, testicles or penis.
The service provides investigations and management of medical (non-surgical) conditions such as recurrent urinary tract infections. Females may be referred to our service for help with problems of incontinence and bladder function.
We also provide surgical management of conditions such as:
- kidney, bladder, testes or prostate cancer
- urinary tract stones
- trauma injury
- incontinence (urinary or wee)
- congenital (birth) abnormalities.
