National guidance for antimicrobial prescribing
Te Whata Kura is Aotearoa New Zealand’s national cross-sector antibiotic guideline. You can access the guidelines as a website or install it on a mobile device like an app.
It offers evidence-based, expert-informed recommendations for empiric treatment and prophylaxis of infections in adults and children (excluding premature infants).
Te Whata Kura replaces existing district hospital and community guidelines.
It has been developed by the team at Antibiotic Conservation Aotearoa and is endorsed for use by Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora and the Ministry of Health.
